Every year, the Comité Départemental Nord de la Ligue contre le cancer organises the Relay for Life. An event, scheduled for 15 and 16 June 2019 at the Parc de la Ramie in Seclin, designed to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
For 24 hours, participants of all ages mobilise in teams with the aim of celebrating those who have lost their lives to cancer and honouring those who have beaten it or are still fighting the disease. For the fifth consecutive year, 200 Kiabers from the Lauwin-Planque logistics site and the central services, accompanied by their families and friends, have committed to taking up the challenge. We completed 2380 laps in 24 hours,” says Dominique, a Kiaber in logistics. Our effort raised 5,000 euros to fund a project to improve the lives of patients.
The health crisis has prevented the Relay from taking place at the Décathlon Campus (Villeneuve d’Ascq) in June 2020. No matter! The organising committee composed of Sylvain, Valérie, Tanguy, Isabelle and Dominique is already in the starting blocks to prepare the next edition. Until then, the Kiabers of logistics intend to invest in other projects such as the preparation and sale of cakes and accessories for the benefit of the League against Cancer within the framework of Pink October.
