HAPPINESS AND COMFORT FOR CHRISTMAS

Every year, the Kiabi Hong Kong office organises a Christmas drive.

The health authorities have instituted social distancing in care facilities, which deprives residents of outings and limits outside visits since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Hong Kong. “We approached Wai Ji, a local NGO we have been working with for a few years, to identify the needs of social workers and help them entertain the public in care facilities for people with disabilities,” says Michelle, Kiabi Life’s Hong Kong correspondent.

“Christmas is a precious moment that gives them hope to feel loved and allows them to reconnect with society. While there were no more initiatives and meetings, the members of the Kiabi Life committee wanted to bring happiness and comfort to the residents by offering them the means to enjoy themselves. A collection was made among the departments of the Hong Kong office. The Kiabers were very generous (board games, illustrated books, video consoles, televisions, clothes…). A Christmas party was also organised with the beneficiaries of the Wai Ji day care centre.
