MODELS FOR A DAY

The Mâcon team is regularly involved in Pink October. We had already hosted stands run by the Ligue contre le cancer and organised an event with the help of a Kiaber that runs a riding school,” says Stéphanie, co-leader of the shop, who is used to taking part in the pink walk with Annie (manager) and Alice (assistant co-leader). “We wanted to set up our own in-store event. Alice got in touch with Les Fées Papillons 71, a local association of therapists and people who support cancer patients and their families. “Our proposal to organise a fashion show with patients appealed to them. Five female customers and a Kiaber also joined in. The event took place on 30 October in the presence of members of the association, customers and local partners. “It was very rich emotionally. We created a bond with these women, who fully assume their body and their femininity. Each of the thirteen Kiabers in the team took a participant in hand. Given the size of the project and the time frame, the teams were a little stressed. In the end, the cause and the goal won out.

2,435 euros in donations were collected in the cash register for the benefit of the Saône et Loire League against Cancer. “We would like to donate part of the money to the “Fées Papillons” next year, in addition to the parade. As the association also supports men with cancer, the shop displayed its most beautiful moustache last month on social networks in connection with Movember*.

  • Every year in November, men around the world are invited to grow a moustache in order to raise awareness and funds for research into men’s diseases such as prostate cancer.
